I don't type well. I'm fairly fast but fairly inaccurate. Sometimes my fingers start in the wrong place and I hit all the wrong keys,
creating words like "yjod" (supposed to be "this"). Word processing and spell check certainly make it easier to clean up the mistakes.
Although I've had a keyboard for years, do you know that it is only recently that I noticed that the "F" and "J" keys have a raised
portion to help my index fingers find home base! How could I have not noticed?
I think of Kate telling about driving the long distance to her brother's home in upper New England. She was tired and late as she
hurried along. She passed several well-marked exits on the interstate before it finally sank in that she was going the wrong way. The
signs were clearly there but they didn't register.
Do you ever feel dumb like that? Do you ever wonder what is right in front of you that you don't see? Especially what it
is that your very own body is trying to tell you? Enough talk. It's late. I'm tired and going to bed ...if I can find the way.
