Good Scents?

Flowers, perfumes, fragrant lotions and oils - perfectly wonderful to smell unless they make you sneeze or give you a headache. How can something that smells so good make some of us sick? It seems as though cooked cabbage or manure or skunk spray should be the offenders but no such luck.

Because I cannot be sure who will be bothered by which scents (many fragrances bother me), I try to keep the massage room free of the most commonly troublesome smells. Sometimes the fragrances walk into the room with the client and then the perfume lingers for the next person.

I ask you to be mindful of the smells you decorate yourself with before you come to a session. Less is better.

Some massage therapists offer aromatherapy during a massage, an addition that many clients find soothing and helpful. If fragrances do not bother you and you have the opportunity to experience aromatherapy, you might really like it. You might experiment on your own with products that are on the market.

I wish I could have fresh flowers in the room to greet you. But my head would soon begin to ache and maybe yours would, too.
